NORFOLK, Va. (AP) ? Norfolk State will be going up against a familiar face in the NCAA tournament.

The Spartans (25-9), making their first appearance in the field as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champions, are seeded 14th and will face No. 3 seed Missouri and Ricardo Ratliffe, a native of Hampton, Va., in the second round in Omaha, Neb.

The game will be played Friday in the West region.

The Tigers (30-4), ranked fifth, won the Big 12 conference tournament for the second time in four years.

The Spartans earned the automatic berth from the MEAC by winning the conference tournament for the first time on Saturday.

They also avoided the First Four games in Dayton, Ohio, despite playing one of the weakest schedules in the country.
